About Pilot R&D

We are known for tackling the biggest challenges in food and turning ambitious ideas into reality. To make things happen, we navigate a wide range of relationships — from our clients to ingredient suppliers to co-packers and beyond — while doing rigorous product development work in our Berkeley kitchen and lab. We are a small, talented team that takes the work seriously and treats one another with respect.

Role Mission

Keep the development team supported and projects on time by assisting with running trials, producing samples, client tastings, ingredient receiving and inventory, cleaning, and facility upkeep.

We love welcoming smart, energetic, positive, and eager-to-learn interns into our lab. If you're up for anything, into eating weird things, and adept with a Vitamix and Google Sheets, please reach out! We typically require a minimum commitment of three weeks.

As an essential function of this role, interns regularly taste, evaluate, and provide feedback on a wide range of food and beverage products, including items containing common allergens and alcoholic beverages. The ability to perform this tasting and evaluation is a core requirement of the position.
